I happen to be checking on updates in case i need a backup and was surprised to see no reviews!!!! I LOVE this system. I set it up in this 79 asteroids cabinet I refurbished and its the most popular item in the rec. room.

I ordered from this company because they actually ship from the US and not from China like all the other sellers on facebook. Overall pleased. Does every single game work? no, but pretty much every game I've tried plays great with a couple exceptions. Is it worth the money? heck yeah! you won't regret it.

Ok lets start with the negatives



1. Ken Griffey Jr presents Major League Baseball season mode freezes



2. Instruction manual was not included with mine.



Thats it.



This is probably the coolest thing I've ever owned. I'm able to play all my games. They actually save on the system. So you can continue playing. Or if the game does not have a save. Option you can save your slate. And pick it back up where you left off.



I was a little skeptical at first but after receiving it I was shocked and amazed at how amazing it is.

I must say I was skeptical at first. But gave it a try, and I can honestly say, I am more than pleased. All the great games I played when I was younger, and they work perfect. Customer service (Bob) answered any questions within minutes and I must say was very pleased with the helpful info and quick responses. I got the platinum edition and it's very easy to use and the games are exactly as the originals. Highly recommended for any old school gamer, and at that price,you can't beat it. Just ordered one for my sister for an xmas present and I know she'll love it also. Overall... excellent customer service, a very good price, and all the classic games you could ask for. Very glad I bought this and highly recommend to any gamer

I have never experienced this level of customer service with an online company before. I bought this 7 or 8 months ago and my kids broke the power box last week yankin on the cord. They were nice enough to send me another one for free. we all like playing it. keeps the kids occupied with non violent games.

I am very happy with my new retropie console. I am glad to know that 20 years after leaving the community, there are still people out there to preserve this piece of history. Thank you for the excellent communication and work! I will purchase again!

Also the 64 controllers i bought last year that were not compatible. They work perfectly with the upgrade Platinum SD card. I\\\'m more than satisfied loving it

I was one the fence, back and forth whether or not to buy GameBox Hero. Was it legit, did it work? Ultimately my answers were YES and YES!!



My unit shipped out literally right after I purchased it Online. Due to the COVID delays by the USPS I had to sit and wait for it to arrive a tad later than it was supposed to.



Upon receipt I was pleased with the contents of the box. Unit, controllers, controller wires and the most important of the bunch, the instructions. Setup was completed in under 5 minutes.



Now for the juicy details.....



Wow, was I amazed at the on screen menu and amount of games shown. It is a little different seeing them all there on the TV as opposed to a listing Online. Total excitement.



Is it worth buying? Yes

Does it have issues? Yes, but so do all gaming systems



My cons - while browsing the game menus, the scrolling locks and keeps going on its own here and there.

The controllers are a tad wonky and I will be upgrading soon to something else other than what came with the unit.



Pros - tons of games. And I mean tons! You will find things you never knew existed.

Loads fast. No real waiting for the game to start.

Takes up no space on a TV stand.

Very user friendly menu.

Game Box Hero was a great find. I probably put enough money into Punch Out! to buy my own machine. I haven’t played this game in years but am enjoying again from my man cave/home office. The selection of games is incredible — just about everything I played either at the arcade or on Nintendo or C64 is now all housed in a system about the same size as a SNES cartridge. Game Box Hero truly delivers and won’t disappoint someone seeking a classic gaming experience.

My lovely wife gifted me this wonderful little machine for my birthday last year. Let me tell you, I was absolutely blown away with both how many of the old games from my childhood and youth can be found on here as well the vast amount of hours that can be lost losing one’s self in the treasure trove of content through games I’ve never played little own heard of.



However, my review isn’t to sell you on the machine. If you want that there is more than enough content and testimonials for you to skim through on others individuals who have left reviews. No friend, I’m here to tell you about my experience after the sale. Months, in fact almost a full year after. I did some digging on the game box hero website one day, because I really wanted to enjoy the machine as I do the majority of the other consoles I own…that is to say from any chair or couch in my living room regardless of distance from wireless controllers. Come to find out there are instructions on how to do exactly that in the FAQ of their website. However, despite following the instructions EXACTLY I was able to move around within the menus of a wireless controller, but once I got to the title screen of the game itself nothing worked! I was frustrated. I sent an email to the company explaining my dilemma, not expecting to hear anything back. If I did, it would be a wild goose hunt or cost me extra money or both. Isn’t that what we’ve come to expect from any company nowadays? To my surprise boy was I wrong. An associate named Mike emailed me back shortly. Would you know, that man worked tirelessly with me for about a week by e-mail day and night to resolve my issue. Step-by-step he told what to do and how to do it. I felt like I was the only customer they had. Bar none it was the best customer service experience I’ve ever had. Mike really cared. I was never changed extra, put on hold, never heard from again, or felt like a number. To me, that experience meant more than the fun I have with the machine itself. I’m a disabled veteran and this little machine takes my mind off pain and other things helping to get through the day. But Mike and those that work for this company care about people. And that matters more.

The system works great! The only issues I've had are some n64 games turning into "black walls" as I try to play them (Shadowman 64 for example). Would recommend for the sheer number of games given.

Just received this and already happy. Had o e game so far not loaf correctly but I mean come on. If only a few load it's worth it and there are over 11,000 games on there. Really enjoying it so far. And for contra, the up up down down left right left right B A start code actually worked. Awesome. Already worth the no at just for the memories and family fun

This! Is! SOOOOO!!!! AMAZING!!! Got mine yesterday at 3:PM. I went to bed at 1:30AM playing like a little kid:) EVERY game I loved growing up is on this thing - it’s INCREDIBLE!!! Thank goodness I’m on vacation this week, because I will be a couch potato playing until my wife hits me with a frying pan, lol. Worth EVERY freaking PENNY!!! Yes, I was skeptical too, but NOT anymore:) Thanks GameBoxHero!!! And, happy NEW YEAR!
